I cannot believe I am ending my second month of blogging already. When I started this blog in November 2020, I didn’t expect too much and I honestly didn’t think I would make money with blogging until later on.
In this traffic and income report, I’ll show you my statistics and how I made money with blogging, $334.89 to be exact.
If you read my first traffic and income report, you’d know that I lost money and that I expected to see those results for several months.
This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you choose to click through and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you. You can read more about it–>HERE.
So, how does it feel to actually make a profit in my second month of blogging? I am over the moon about it, and I’m also kicking myself a little for waiting so long to start.
I started my blog for several reasons.
- To inspire others to pursue their passion.
- For myself, because I needed a creative outlet and a place where my voice is heard.
- To earn a passive income for my family.
What does passive income even mean, though? According to Wikipedia,
Passive income is income that requires little to no effort to earn and maintain.
I won’t lie to you, blogging is H-A-R-D and I put a lot of time into it. However, if you set up the blog correctly and remain consistent the earning potential is unlimited!
Blogging is considered passive income because you create an article, insert links to affiliate programs (or your own product), and make money for years to come.
You can go to Pinterest right now, and type in ‘blog reports’ and you’ll see tons of bloggers make $2,000, $10,000, and even $100,000 each month.
Yes, I mean each month. These income reports drew me in and inspired me to start thinking that if they can do it, I can too. I’ll be real with you though, I do not set unrealistic goals, because I get discouraged easily.
Building a business takes a long time, especially a profitable one. However, with the right set up and motivation for success, almost anyone could this.
I honestly don’t have the words to express how thankful and shocked I am with my results. So, I won’t hold you up with stumbling on my words. You are here for a report and a report is what you shall receive! 🙂
Why am I sharing this report?
Sharing this report is a way for me to track my success and accomplishments. As I said, I get discouraged easily so this report gives me time to reflect on what worked and what didn’t.
To keep everything transparent with you, the goal of this report is to show the results for each month even if it’s not that great. I find this especially helpful for new bloggers who have no knowledge and want to see goals are met. I love reading other bloggers’ income reports, and I find it inspiring to see how they progressed from nothing. Hopefully, my blog report will inspire others as well.
Let’s get to the good stuff!
January 2021: Traffic & Income Report
The table below shows a summary of my blog report. Surprisingly, I hit almost every goal except one and that is email subscriptions! I didn’t expect much growth in this area, but I am so thankful for my followers.
These guys get exclusive news, deals, and some pretty cool recommendations before anyone else. If you haven’t signed up, you definitely should think about it. I am working on several projects that you will not want to miss out on.
Throughout this report, I’ve included several screenshots to show where the numbers in the table come from.
This month, I focused more on my blog. I participated in a couple of online courses and even joined Twitter. I wasn’t a fan of doing that, but I was able to gain several followers, which is awesome!
The goal is to be more present on social media so I thought it was a good stepping stone to take.
I also published eight articles, which is a TON, you can check them out below.
- Top AI for Business Applications You Can Use to Scale Your Business
- How to Integrate AI into Your Business

Pageviews and sessions were a rollercoaster this month. It helped to be more consistent with posting articles and promoting the blog. The spikes you see above were when I put some serious promoting work in.
That means writing articles, making YouTube or TikTok videos, and posting on almost all social media platforms. Keep in mind blogging is 25% creating content and 75% promoting.
How does traffic get to my website?
In total, I mange seven social media platforms. This includes:
- Facebook-Uptown Sage (Blog Page)
- Facebook- Uptown Sage Deals (Promo Code Page)
- Facebook Tailwind Create Support Group
- TikTok
- YouTube (super new at this)
When I talk about promotional methods, I use these platforms to get my information out there. My top three platforms are Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.
Another cool stat is my Pinterest viewers! In November I started a brand new account and had zero viewers. I am now over 72,000 and it’s so refreshing to see that.
This just means, that my content is actually reaching people, which is needed to drive traffic to the website.
Income Report
Earnings
As you can see, Tailwind and MonsterInsights played a huge part in my income this month. Keep scrolling to know why I choose them as my affiliate programs.
Amazon has been really good too, it is a lot of work, but I have recruited my husband to help me when I become too busy. He has been a life-saver when it comes to helping me operate my business!
I’m still learning the best way to promote products, so I hope this goes up next month with the plans I expect to utilize.
With Etsy, it’s a nice storefront, but I am still not sold on it. I tried running another ad with them and it just isn’t converting as much as I would like it to. po
There were several ‘favorited’ shop items that I listed, but only two orders. I honestly think I could do better with listing them on my website, which I might do at a later date.
Expenses
With every business, comes expenses! This month wasn’t too bad and I plan on keeping my expenses super low. Being negative the first month really took a good chunk out of my profits, but that’s okay.
I paid for my hosting and my domain name already, but I wanted to show you that it is still listed as an expense.
If I were to include it monthly, I would have paid $3.67 per month for hosting and $0.75 per month for my domain name. It’s super affordable if you ask me.
Profit
Put it all together, and I profited $251.01 without ever leaving the house! That still leaves me speechless for not having a ton of knowledge starting out.
No one could have told me I would make money with blogging in my second month.
This proves to me that I could have started this blog years ago and that others can do the same if they are looking for ways to bring in extra money.
Tools That Made It Possible To Make Money With Blogging
Namecheap: This is my site host and without it, I would not have a website nor a domain name. I chose Namecheap for several reasons and you can view that here.
If you don’t have a host picked out, I recommend Namecheap for their affordable prices and stellar support.

Tailwind: Without Tailwind, I would not have my Pinterest traffic. It has been a life-saver when it comes to helping my business grow. In my second month of blogging, I have over 72,000 monthly views and thousands of engagements. That’s insane with starting with nothing.
It has helped me remain active on Pinterest with scheduling my Pins. The Tailwind Communities helped play a part in reaching my goals, and I have been able to design pins with Tailwind Create.
The best part about Tailwind is you can try their trial which is not time-based! Typical Results for Tailwind for Pinterest members can be found here.
This company is my favorite so far and they have offered several promotions that helped me get the income I received this month.

MonsterInsights: I use this plugin daily to view my site statistics and I love it. MonsterInsights makes it easier to view Google Analytics and I never have to leave my WordPress dashboard.
Canva: I could not work without this software and I am so happy I found it. Originally, I used the free plan on Canva to design all of my products but made the switch to Canva Pro last month and it has been well worth it.
Digital products are the number way to make money with blogging. I have made planners, decals, and even start my online merch store for supporters!

Reflection
All right, I have my new goals listed and I am super nervous, but I’ll check back in with you next month and see how I measured up for February.
The most important thing you can gather from this report is that you don’t need a crazy amount of pageviews or followers to make money with blogging. You can start now, learn as you go, and put the work in.
I am amazed at how well this month went and I couldn’t have done it without my AMAZING readers and affiliate partners. So, thank you.
It means a lot to me that you took the time to read this and I hope this report leaves you feeling inspired.

Wow! I love this and I love how realisticly you are taking everything! I have recently started blogging and just hope to achieve half of this by the end of my second month! Keep going! ❤
Thank you! I believe in you. It’s definitely hard, but it is so worth it. I wish you the best on your blogging journey.
You have done an amazing job in only 2 months! I’m in my first month of using tailwind I have 10 days left and I agree every blogger using Pinterest should use it, it does amazing things for your pins. My Pinterest account is only 5 weeks old and my views are amazing.
Keep up the great work and keep inspiring others.
Thank you so much! I agree, Tailwind has been amazing. I just completed a full month of scheduling and it feels awesome.
Thank you so much for all of your info, I am a new blogger and this was super helpful!
You’re welcome!! If you have any questions, let me know. 🙂
Impressive results after such a short period. Looks like you’re going to make a lot more money in the months ahead. Well done.
Thank you! I can’t wait to see where I am six months from now. Hopefully, I can keep on keeping on. 🙂
Brittany this is so encouraging for new bloggers. I love that you aren’t talking about getting $1000 in your 2nd month. You can only go up from here. Your post is good motivation for anyone who’s in doubt about making money on their blog. Congratulations. Keep it up
Thank you!! Yes, setting realistic goals is the way to go. Being unrealistic sets up a path for discouragement, and that can happen quickly as a new blogger.
I enjoyed reading this. We started on the same month last year but you are way ahead. I’m inspired.
Thank you! That is so neat, I wish you the best on your blogging journey. If you need any advice, let me know.
I am completely happy for your success.
great that you are basing this blogging report on being authentic and realistic.
thanks for sharing your awesome post.
so inspiring.
Thank you!! Being transparent and inspiring are definitely two characteristics I aim for.
Hey girl! I’m super stoked to see it’s possible to earn an income so soon after starting a blog. I just started mine a week ago. Best of luck!!
Thanks!! It takes a lot of work, but with realistic goals and a great deal of motivation anything is possible! Wish you the best on your journey!
I like your simple tracking system. It looks like an easy way to determine what’s working and what needs improvment. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I have a Google Doc form that makes it so easy to track. It has been a life-saver when it comes to keeping everything organized!
You have inspired me so much! I’m so glad I found you. As a new blogger, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed on learning everything and actually making a profit, but you’ve given me hope. Thank you!
You are so welcome! My main goal is to help others whether that means I make $5000 in a month or $5. For new bloggers, I think it’s essential to show transparency in the good and bad. Ultimately, it’s all about how bad you want it and how hard you are willing to work for it. Just always remember… a month can pass by and you can either have a month of PROGRESS or a month of EXCUSES. You got this! If you need any help, let me know. Best wishes to you! 🙂
You’ve given me quite a lot of information that I haven’t even considered for my monthly blogging self-reflection. On my next post I’m going to add some of the key things that you’ve pointed out that I haven’t been tracking. I was wanting to know if you can tell me what program do you recommend for affiliate link masking? The one I’m using (Easy Affiliate Links) to the best of my knowledge won’t work with images and I have a lot of images on my blog.
I’m so happy you found my blogging reflection helpful! When you do post your article, send me the link. I would love to read it. 🙂
As for affiliate masking, I honestly don’t mask any links. I do have the Pretty Links plugin, but I’ve maybe used it five times. For my images, I either use the link given or enter the HTML code for the programs banner. If it’s an image not pertaining to my affiliates, I simply just copy and paste and credit the artist. Does this help any?
This is a really encouraging post to read. Thank you so much for sharing your insight. I started the same month as you, but haven’t made anything yet. So you are doing really well. I didn’t put a lot of time into it though until the last two or three weeks. Hopefully, I will have some income to report soon as well.
Thanks, and that’s awesome that we started in the same month! Whenever you post your first income report, I’d love to read it. But, yes, I’ve put A LOT of time into this blog. It’s honestly been over 40 hours some weeks. This month I’ve toned it back to focus on one thing at a time like re-doing my website or taking some courses. It’s a lot, but I’ve loved it so far. 🙂
I love seeing these reports from fellow bloggers. It’s so interesting to see how others are able to monetize their online presence.
